Automatic food storage: choosing Automha

Established in 1967 by Jose Badia, Badia Spices is one of today’s leading family-owned Hispanic food companies. Badia manufactures, packages, and distributes spices, seasoning blends, marinades, sauces, teas, health items and other products to more than 70 countries around the world. Problem

Badia needed to add more production space to a building that was already busting at the seams. That meant that something had to be moved. Management decided that they would move their distribution and shipping operations to a building that they owned about half a mile down the street. This created a second problem. They needed to store 1,800 pallets that were 60” High in a building with only 19 feet of clear height.

Solution

Badia contacted Crown Lift Trucks in Pompano Beach who is their supplier of Warehouse Solutions products and Forklift Trucks. David Martin, Mark Ryber and Les Christy of Crown put their heads together and quickly came up with the only means by which to achieve their customer’s goal of storing 1,800 pallets in this tight space. They introduced the Pallet Runner High-Density Deep Lane automatic food storage system to the Badia management team.

Automha and Crown worked together to design a system for the automatic food storage of over 2,000 pallets total.

Advantages

In addition to increasing their production capacity at their manufacturing facility, Badia Spices now has a new distribution center that has plenty of space available for growth and expansion.
