Yili Group, founded in 1956, is ranked among the world’s most successful dairy companies and has been consecutively ranked No.1 in the Asian dairy industry in the past several years. It is the largest dairy company in China with over 100 factories globally and offering the most comprehensive range of products. Its turnover was over 90 billion RMB in 2019. Yili is the only dairy enterprise in China that has met the standards for serving the Olympic Games and provided services at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. It is also the only dairy enterprise to have met the World Expo’s standard and was the exclusive supplier of dairy products for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

Problem

Due to YiLi’s huge growth in 2020, the phase I warehouse, with 16 AutoSAT Mover and designed to accommodate 3 years in advance based on their planning, already reached maximum capacity. To support bigger growth for the future, YiLi company decided to invest in a phase II warehouse in advance to increase its current capacity.

Solution

The warehouse solution proposed by AUTOMHA consists of a combination of FIFO and LIFO, with a length of 51 meters and a height of 8.9 meters, and a total capacity of 3,360 pallet locations. The inbound and outbound efficiency of the warehouse is very high, due to the customer’s requirement and request, and the warehouse runs continuous production. This requires reliability on the products and systems. The ability of AUTOMHA machines to meet customers’ special requirements is due to careful and precise mechanical and electronic measures, supported by the R&D department at the Italian Headquarters. Thanks to over 10 years of strong experience and projects implemented globally, Automha ensures customer confidence and success.

The system includes:
– with an available height of 8.9m, Automha designed four levels with unit load heights over 1.6 m, the distance between the top surfaces of a unit load to the roof is only 400mm, to maximize the utilization of space. Total inbound and outbound with 4 sets of Mover+SuperCAP

– AUTOSATMOVER runs in a special lane, perpendicular to the storage aisles. Once you reach the aisle determined by the software, SUPERCAP, the vehicle onboard AUTOSATMOVER, detaches and deposits the load unit in the indicated place, then returns to the mother ship, ready for a new mission. The SUPERCAP satellite has been specially designed with the dimensions necessary for the storage of “case pallets”, smaller and narrower than average pallets.

The warehouse created by AUTOMHA of phase I and phase II combined makes the total number of load units stored possible equal to 13,420, for a maximum weight of each UDC of 1500 kg.
